THE county's roads have had their fair share of unusual lorry loads.

Last month saw parts of a Boeing 747 being taken to the Pontrilas Army Training Area during two successive weekends.

And last week motorists spotted another unusual looking load on four lorries travelling from the Netherlands.

A spokesman for Heineken, Nicola Heath, confirmed the cylindrical tanks were being taken to the Bulmers cider plant in Hereford.

She said: "They are part of our new build following our £58m investment and will be used to store raw materials for cider production."

It was believed the aeroplane parts were to be used at the Pontrilas Army Training Area by soldiers to prepare for possible kidnapping scenarios but the Ministry of Defence declined to comment when contacted by the Hereford Times.
