FLICKS in the Sticks film screenings at Much Marcle's Memorial Hall have been scrapped.

Around 70 people expressed interest in attending the screenings, but only around 20 have been turning up regularly.

A Much Marcle Memorial Hall spokesman said: "Flicks in the Sticks is no longer viable for us.

"Much Marcle Memorial Hall Committee has to pay out £89 every time for a licence to show a film, so with the low numbers of people coming, we were actually losing money.

"This is a real shame, especially as the Hall has some brilliant sound and projection equipment, but if you don’t have the support of the village, what can you do?"
