THE HAREWOOD End Inn has been left hare-less after two of its long-eared friends were stolen.

Two bronze figures of boxing hares, which were on a mantelpiece in the bar area, were taken between Tuesday, February 10 and lunchtime on February 12.

They were bought by owners Brigitte and Mark Ratcliffe when they took over the freehold at the Harewood End pub two years ago.

Mrs Ratcliffe said: "The Harewood End is now hare-less. We are the Wood End Inn now.

"I was quite upset but now I feel quite annoyed. A lot of people commented on them and they were a great feature in the bar."

Dan Ratcliffe and his fiancée Nicki Boazman run the pub and everyone is hoping for the return of the hares.

The theft has been reported to the police. If you think you can help call the pub on 01989 730637.
