MOUTHING the usual platitudes we expect from politicians, both local and national, whenever the word “race” is mentioned, Councillor Chappell (Hereford Times, August 23) tells us that an “ever-expanding Herefordshire”
means that we must welcome people from “all across the world....”.
Perhaps he will now tell us how he intends to provide the housing, education, health care and employment, already in short supply, for the new arrivals as well as for an increasing local population?
HENRY KEOWN-BOYD, Thornbury, Herefordshire.
