FOLLOWING Bill Tanner’s informative article (Hereford Times, March 22) we, on behalf of many residents of Hoarwithy, would like to offer our wholehearted support to Irene Keogh and her representative James Pereira in their efforts to get the judgment overruled in respect of the polytunnels issue at Pennoxtone Court Farm.

The council must listen to the views of residents and their wishes and it is extraordinary to hear that there was such a fine balance on the vote in this case and yet the council still took no notice of Mrs Keogh’s petition.

We have already invited councillors to visit us here in Hoarwithy to see for themselves the effect of these polytunnels but we have not had the courtesy of a reply.

Hoarwithy is located immediately opposite Kings Caple and these unsightly polytunnels completely ruin this area of outstanding natural beauty.

We appreciate that farmers wish to grow vegetables and fruit but to ruin some 70 hectares of the beautiful countryside is totally unreasonable and we hope the council will reconsider this matter.
