I WONDER whether the Edgar Street development management live in or near Hereford or have any care for the residents or local shopkeepers of the area?
I feel frustrated at the lack of parking spaces since the old market parking was closed back in November just in time to make parking for Christmas shoppers more difficult.
As the weeks went by and nothing happened on the site, I am sure there are many others as infuriated as I am that the parking spaces could apparently still have been available.
Then the overflow parking which had been accessed from the Garrick outside parking was padlocked shut and still nothing has happened.
We are now informed that big hoardings are going up around the whole site. For how long, one wonders?
It will not look very attractive for visitors this summer especially during the Three Choirs Festival, when parking spaces will again be at a premium.
When and how will the demolition take place – everything down in one go or in stages? How long will these hoardings be up – months or years?
Are we being driven to shop exclusively in supermarkets because there is no other place to park?
Was this also the intention of those responsible for terminating the concessionary parking scheme?
