AFTER reading the article about the unfavourable Care Quality Commission report (Hereford Times, February 9) I felt I had to write to your paper in defence of Newstead nursing home.
My 91-year-old mother-in-law has been a resident of the home since October.
The family and I feel she has the best of care.
Almost bedridden, her bed is of very good quality which helps with the prevention of bed sores.
Whenever I visit, which is on different days at different times, she always has a fruit drink on her table and has several cups of tea made for her during the day.
She is happy in the home and all the family are please with the staff who are very kind and caring.
SHEILA JARVIS, Marden, Hereford.
