CALLING all dinner ladies. I was at Wellington Primary School from 1976-79 and still remember the lovely food we had for school dinners – damson cobbler, cheese and potato pie, butterscotch tart and cream.
Now an adult, I’ve searched and searched to find these recipes to recreate for my own children, and myself, but to no avail. Can anybody help? Perhaps an exdinner lady would pass on the recipes, or someone can direct me to an archive of 1970s school dinner recipes? I’m hoping to make a collection of recipes which could be adapted for family use. I would also like to hear of any school dinner stories, good and bad, from dinner ladies of all eras.
Thank you.
