AS a complete megalomaniac I had to write a letter to see my name in print and, while doing so, I thought I would include three points.

Firstly, I have read the Hereford Times for quite a few years and enjoyed reading the recent My World section.

Although lighthearted, I felt the questions to be thought-provoking and broke up the sometimes heavy-going debates that may have been around for a while, but yet see no resolution in sight. So please would you consider reinstating the aforementioned column.

Secondly, I agree wholeheartedly with two previous letters stating that the Rose Gardens site needs further improvement.

I found nothing wrong with the original Rose Gardens, which were well kept and had space for leisure activities.

I think that a design rethink would be in order.

Thirdly, I have recently become a member of the Hereford and Gloucester Canal Trust and think that restoring the old canal so that everyone could take in the fantastic scenery of our beautiful country would be a worthwhile effort of regeneration.

Also, it would bring a wide selection of attributes, not to mention tourism and leisure, and in this current financial climate it is worth serious consideration.

The trust site is on the internet, including a history and progress report, so take a look.
