GOOD to see Conservative parliamentary candidate, Jesse Norman, getting stuck in and helping shift sandbags during the floods. We are used to seeing suited MPs or candidates giving a cheery slap on the back to workers for a photo shoot, then disappearing.
His volunteer flood squads are a great idea, but they need central organisation and co-ordination. We know nothing will change from government,but the council could do something right here.
Perhaps we could call them storm norms' like bobbies' after Sir Robert Peel.
