HEREFORD FC have come a long way in a very short time and provided huge enjoyment to the large crowds attending matches at Edgar Street. And, like other supporters, I am looking forward to watching them at Wembley.

The match at Alvechurch should have provided a great talking point for the superb result. Sadly, that has been over-shadowed by the poor behaviour of a small section of supporters who seemed intent on causing trouble. Such behaviour brings shame on the club and the vast majority of supporters.

Hereford have already been taken to task by the FA concerning flares being thrown at Edgar Street this season, which resulted in the club having to spend a great deal of money on higher resolution CCTV installations. Taking any pyrotechnic into a ground is a criminal offence under Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc,) Act 1985.

Only this week, the club had to warn supporters not to ‘invade’ the pitch.

The club owners, officials and players have worked so hard to provide the city with a club to be proud of. Therefore, it is essential that the idiots who have brought disrepute on the club are identified and punished, before any punitive action is taken against this superb club.
