Glad to see that the government is to reconsider its attempt to cut disability allowances as outlined in George Osbourne's flawed budget proposals.

It doesn't alter the fact however that Conservative members of Parliament ( Including the two representing Herefordshire) voted in favour of welfare reductions, and have yet to explain why they attempted to put the burden of Britain's struggling economy, on those less fortunate and vulnerable people. Whilst at the same time giving even more tax relief to those more able to shoulder the burden. It seems to me that the only reason that Cameron and co are attempting to back track, is because of the overwhelming backlash of public opinion and their concern for many Tory seats in the future.

This begs the question as to why they were not more in touch with public opinion in the first place. It also seems to me that they were more blinded by Tory dogma and the views of their wealthy paymasters than the needs of the many less fortunate in society.
