Schools library service is already self-funding
I READ with great interest Herefordshire Council’s priorities and budget consultation paper, and was surprised to see that the schools library service is to become ‘fully self-funded’ (On borrowed time, Hereford Times, August 6).
I have known this service as a user for many years and support the great work it has done via the mobile library and continues to provide for the schools in the county.
I am also aware that is is already self-funded and has no support from public libraries; it is paid for by the schools it serves.
