IT was good to see the issues of littering and fly-tipping raised in the Hereford Times letters pages recently.
In Kington we have an active group that has met regularly over many years to pick up litter from roads and verges around the town.
Most of the litter is food and drink related. Why doesn’t the government introduce a returns deposit on drinks containers as recommended by the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England?
This has been successful in many other countries, such as Germany, Denmark, Holland, Sweden and parts of the USA and Australia.
