I WOULD like to support John Norton's letter regarding the remembrance parade in Hereford.
This parade is for the people to pay respects and remember. Over the last couple of years the ‘mayoral party’ has got increasingly bigger. A case of 'if the soldiers can be on parade, why not the ‘hangers on?’ This year there were 50+ which is getting ridiculous. We are not there for them. It only needs the Lord Lieutenant (Queen’s representative), services representatives and the mayor.
Maybe we need to take a leaf from the cenotaph parade, to look to who the parade is for.
