I AM the secretary of the North Marston History Club near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and we are erecting a memorial in the village church to six airmen who died when their Wellington bomber (from RAF Westcott) crashed in the village on January 4, 1945.
We are trying to trace the relatives of Sergeant Reginald Benjamin Price of the RAF Voluntary Reserve (service number 1899494). He was a 19-year-old air-gunner from Brighton and was the son of Rupert and Alice Price. He had two sisters, Marjorie and Dorothy, and we believe their descendants may live in the Hereford area (with surnames Godsall or Philpotts).
The other members of the crew were Ian Smith from Beckenham, Kent; John Wenham from Maidstone, Kent; and three men from New Zealand (Michael Reece, Donald McClennan and Alexander Bolger). The aircraft took off from 11OTU base at RAF Westcott, Buckinghamshire.
If anyone has any information about Sgt Price I would be grateful if they could contact me on 01280 813549 or chaplin259@btinternet.com
