CAN anyone explain to me why, when I live 260 metres from a proposed new chicken farm rearing up to 200,000 chickens a year and having found out about it this week, I have only until November 6 to lodge any opposition?

The planning application lists a number of bodies to be consulted due to it being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but the local residents are not included.

Our lives and homes will be permanently blighted if this goes ahead, but we have not been afforded the time to prepare an organised and co-ordinated opposition.

Needless to say, we will fight.

If anyone else was also unaware, check out planning application P143028/F on the Herefordshire Council website.
