'NO hoper' Councillor Thomas should reflect on his dismal prophesy that the energies of those seeking funds for the improved cancer treatment at Hereford Hospital will fall on stony ground.
I am in a position to understand the trauma that visits to Cheltenham cause patients. I, like others, wish to help remedy this situation.
With colleagues from Ross-on-Wye Golf Club, a Bridge Drive has been arranged on November 30, the support for which has been overwhelming. The funds boosted by bridge players and others will be donated to the MacmMillan/Renton appeal.
In the context of the amount of finance required for extended treatment facilities in Hereford's hospital the contribution will be tiny. However, it will add to many other projects, some complete, others underway or yet to start; the final tally may surprise our 'doubting Thomas'.
Perhaps Councillor Thomas would like to contribute to my cause!
Val Watts, Little Bogmarsh, Holme Lacy.
