A MAN has admitted setting fire to the Talbot Hotel in Ledbury, two housing association properties and an estate agents on the same night last year.

Shane Bird, aged 22, of Aston Close, Ledbury, yesterday entered his guilty pleas at Worcester Crown Court four days before his trial was due to take place at Hereford Crown Court.

He admitted arson with intent to endanger life and damaging the hotel and two cars belonging to Andrew Ward on March 28, 2009.

He also pleaded guilty to arson being reckless whether life would be endangered at Nicholas Craddock estate agents and two properties in Harling Court, Ledbury, belonging to Elgar Housing Association.

Bird was remanded in custody until July 19 for a pre-sentence and psychiatric report.
