THE CHAIRMAN of Ledbury in Bloom, Clive Gunn, says its "great news" that all the roundabouts on Ledbury bypass have now found sponsors.

And he now wants to make the bypass a special feature for next year's Heart of England in Bloom campaign, to impress the judges.

Mr Gunn, who is also Town Crier for Ledbury said:" This is great news.

"We hope to make a feature of the by-pass next year"

There are five roundabouts on Ledbury bypass, and these are now all taken by community-minded firms, who have taken on the licences from Ledbury Town Council which, in turn, was asked to administrate the roundabout sponsorships by Herefordshire Council.

The response to take on the roundabouts has been so positive, there is now a waiting list for interested parties.

Last summer, only two of the roundabouts were sponsored and well-kept: the roundabout in the Hereford Road junction, kept by The Feathers Hotel, and the roundabout on the Gloucester Road junction, kept by Helping Hand.

Now the other three will be looked after too.

Mr Gunn said: "The roundabout off the New Mills Industrial estate is in the care of Galebreaker; the Little Marcle Road traffic island will be looked after by Haygrove and the Ross Road roundabout will be looked after by Shane Howells.

"Work has already started with a vengeance on the Galebreaker roundabout!"

News of the businesses coming forward to help has been widely welcomed too by the local community.

The new sponsorships should also provide a boost for the highly successful Ledbury in Bloom campaign, which is already a Ten times RHS gold medal winner, from 2006 to 2016.
