TWO care workers from Ledbury Health and Community Care Centre have been commended for their long service and dedication by their employer, Shaw Healthcare.

Jane Eversham, team leader at Ledbury Nursing Home, along with her colleague, senior support worker Ericia Davies, were both recognised for 15 years’ service, having worked for the company since 2002.

A Shaw spokesman said: "Both members of staff joined when the purpose-built health centre on Market Street was first opened, as a replacement for Ledbury’s nineteenth century Community Hospital.

"Ms Eversham and Ms Davies were presented with certificates and gifts at a special awards ceremony, organised by Shaw healthcare at the Stanton House Hotel in Wiltshire. The event was organised to celebrate the dedication of its longest serving staff and recognise the significant contribution they have made to delivering high standards of care at nursing homes across the UK."

Shaw’s deputy chief executive, Suzanne Hughes, and Chairman, Alun Thomas, attended the event to present the awards.

Speaking at the event, Mr Thomas said: “The long service awards celebrate those staff who have dedicated their career to providing excellent care to residents in our homes across the country, so it was a real honour for me to be part of today’s celebration.

“While the event marked the achievement of this group of employees, I would like to commend the work of all of our members of staff, many of whom will no doubt be joining us at these ceremonies for their own achievements in years to come.”

Shaw healthcare provides care for individuals in nursing and residential homes, hospitals, supported living environments and domiciliary care schemes.
