LEDBURY'S shops, cafes, hotels and pubs are all getting ready for this weekend's Ledbury Big Breakfast, and some are finding different ways of celebrating the three day event.

The Muse Café, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary this weekend, is raising money for the Mayor of Ledbury’s charities, The Madison Shelbie Trust and the Kawasaki Support Group, by running a sealed bid auction for a designer umbrella, and it is also running a fund-raising raffle.

Bids for the brolly close at 3pm on Saturday January 28.

Clare McLeod of Muse Cafe said: "How high do you dare to bid to get your hands on a luxury umbrella of your choice and support the charities at the same time?"

The Madison Shelbie Trust, is a local bereavement support charity which helps parents who have lost babies during pregnancy, at birth or shortly afterwards.

Kawasaki is an acute illness usually seen in children, most commonly under 8 years of age. It is an inflammatory process that affects almost every system in the body.

Llandinabo Farm Shop and Caffè No 21 will be announcing the winner of the design a sausage campaign on Friday.

Hay Wines are entering the spirit of the event with that most “breakfasty” of drinks – Bucks Fizz.

John Masefield High School staff are sitting down to a special Ledbury Big Breakfast before school on Friday.

Griff Holliday, organiser for Ledbury Food Group said, “It’s great that so many in and around Ledbury are taking part. We hope everybody enjoys at least one breakfast.”

The Big Breakfast runs from Friday
