ORGANISERS of the Ledbury Celebration, a showcase for local food and drink, music and poetry, say they have lined up a full and varied programme for this year's event.

The attraction, which draws large crowds to the town centre, will takes place during the Ledbury Poetry Festival, on July 10.

Spokesman, Griff Holliday said: "The day provides a special opportunity for local and artisan food and drink producers to bring their produce to Ledbury.

"Visitors can purchase a wide range of local food and drink to enjoy straight away or to take home, and listen to live music and poetry while soaking up the celebratory atmosphere."

A programme of music and poetry will run from noon to 6pm featuring poets “irreverent and funny”, such as Clare Bold; “devastatingly effective” such as Nico Reznick; “rising star” Steve Pottinger, and the “wonderfully bizarre” Rob Barratt.

Dan James, Fiddlers Two, Short Stuff, and A Month of Sundays provide the musical entertainment.

Mr Holliday, secretary of the Ledbury Food Group, added: "A special treat last year, Clapper Box will once again entertain with their fascinating mobile puppet theatre.

"Local beers and ciders will be available to enjoy on site, together with a great range of local foods from freshly picked fruit through Polish pierogis, wraps, scotch eggs, cheese, preserves, and fudge to the best in local ice cream.

"I am pleased that plans are building again for a very special event for Ledbury."
