THE adventures of Tim Peake on the International Space Station have proved to be popular viewing for youngsters at Much Marcle Primary.

The nursery class, and years five and six pupils, have been busy this term with the space project, and all of them were excited to watch the launch of British astronaut, Mayor Peake into space.

A school spokesman said the pupils are also switching on at home, after school, to watch Major Peake at work on the station.

To add to the space theme, the pupils have recently made scale models of the planets in the solar system, and they were surprised to find how small the earth is, in comparison with the gas giants such as Saturn and Jupiter.

A scale model of the sun was not made, however, because "that would have just been too large".
