A FEVER of creativity has overtaken students at Ledbury Primary, and the library has become the coolest place to hang out, as youngsters tackle the 500 words challenge.

Head teacher, Julie Rees, said the well-stocked library was proving to be "inspirational" for students trying to write their own stories for the popular competition.

Gold, silver and bronze awards are all up for grabs for the national challenge, which has been launched by BBC Radio 2 breakfast show star, Chris Evans.

There are two age categories for entries, which must be in by February 25, and these are five to nine and ten to 13.

Each year group at Ledbury Primary is taking part.

Submitted stories must be up to 500 words in length.
