LAST Sunday's Civic Service was an occasion to be savoured by Ledbury's mayor, Cllr Annette Crowe.
Around 150 people, including dignitaries from around the county, attended the service at St Michael and All Angels Church, on September 20.
Cllr Crowe said: "It was absolutely brilliant, and the church was filled with music and hymns that people could sing along to, and all the different churches of Ledbury were involved."
Cllr Crowe was particularly pleased to see representatives in attendance from the Ledbury-based charity Salter's Hill.
"It made my day" she said. "The whole event was smashing."
Salter's Hill is one of Cllr Crowe's mayoral charities for the year.
The prelude to the service was a procession from the town council offices up cobbled Church Lane, led by Town Crier, Bill "the Bell" Turberfield.
There were readings from Ledbury Primary School pupils and from John Masefield High School students.
After the service, high tea was served in the Community Hall, Lawnside Road.
