AN EXHIBITION featuring artwork by people in Worcester and surrounding areas who suffer with mental health problems is currently open to the public.

The Finding Futures exhibition, which features 64 paintings, drawings and sculptures, is on display at The Hive, Sawmill Walk, and Worcester Arts Workshop, Sansome Street.

Thirty-seven artists from the Worcester-based charity Art in Minds Foundation have contributed to the events.

Members of the public can view the exhibition at The Hive daily until Friday, October 24, or at Worcester Arts Workshop every Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 3pm until Saturday, October 25.

Claire Hilton, project manager at Art in minds Foundation, who coordinated the exhibition, said: “We have had a really positive response to the artwork so far and it has been very well supported.

“It is really important for us to be able to display the artwork in prominent places in the city centre and showcasing our members’ talents is a really good confidence booster for them.

“There is quite a lot of stigma about mental health but through the exhibition hopefully people will become more aware and feel less shamed by mental health issues.”

Many of the pieces are accompanied by artist statements which provide the viewer with a greater insight into the personal stories behind the work created.

A catalogue, which also includes background details about the exhibition and the artists involved, is available for a suggested donation of £1.
