After trying to go vegetarian for a month in March, I have learned a few things.

One misconception I had about vegetarianism was that this choice of lifestyle didn't leave you with a great range of food options available.

Although I definitely failed in my bid to be meat-free for March, I've learned that there are plenty of options out there if you want to give it a go.

In every restaurant I went to in March, there was a wide range of options available in the vegetarian section of the menu, which wasn't just limited to various salads.

And when it came to cooking at home, I admit I found that more of a struggle but I discovered that there are many meat substitutes available and it is so easy to make your own vegetarian - and healthy - pizza.

People were suggesting that I may feel tired and drained, or may even lose weight, due to not eating meat.

Towards the end of the month I began to slip up more and eat meat here and there - in a sandwich or salad box - but I didn't find I felt drained or had lost any weight at the end of the month.

I felt fine, not better or worse for having tried it.

While I won't be turning vegetarian anytime soon, I'm glad to have learned about the options out there should I ever decide to in the future.
