Much improved entry of 2,529 prime sheep at Kington.

The trade was the best of the week with an overall average of 160ppk and a top head price of £86.50 for 56kg from P Watkins, Dunfield. Prices were above expectation, particularly on the lambs 50-60kg which averaged £81.60 a head, with an overall average of £70 a head.

We need many more small lambs 28-35kg as the demand out strips the supply; these selling to 155ppk for 33kg from Joe Alman at £53.50. This new section is well worth supporting.

Cull ewes saw an entry of 350 forward with a much stronger trade, selling to £92.80 to average £62.
