A PUBLIC meeting to discuss fresh proposals on the future plans of a historic Herefordshire charity is to be held on Thursday.
The Buchanan Trust is hosting the meeting 6pm at the Herefordshire Council Chamber, Hafod Road, Brockington.
The trust, which was set up in 1918 by benefactor Robert Buchanan, aims to provide land to former military personnel interested in settlement or employment in agriculture.
It recently held a four-month consultation as part of its modernisation plans to ensure it is providing new and relevant opportunities for serving and ex-service personnel who show an interest in agriculture or rural employment opportunities.
Proposals include taster courses in the rural land-based sector, partnerships with agricultural colleges and plans to increase the trust’s benevolence for the first time outside of its historic Herefordshire roots in Bosbury.
The meeting will include a presentation and a question and answer session with representatives from the charity’s trustee board.
