PRESTEIGNE'S Carnival Queen for 2017 is Beth Herrits.

Beth is 18 and lives in Presteigne. She has just completed a course studying beauty and works part time in the Hat Shop restaurant. Her attendants this year are Ruth Roberts (9) and Joey Jones (8). They are both pupils at Presteigne Primary School.

This year's carnival will take place at Wentes Meadow on July 15 from 1.30pm.

The carnival parade will go through the High Street at 12.45pm. Floats, bikes, fancy dress participants should assembly for judging at John Beddoes School at noon.

The family fun filled day with include the Welsh Axemen, Savage Skills Bike Stunt Display, a dog show, sheep shearing, acrobatic performers, music, country fayre classes, refreshments, Emily George Dance Display, bouncy castle, a bar plus lots more.

The Carnival Committee need help before, during and after the carnival (or where ever possible). If help isn't forthcoming there is a possibility that future carnivals will not take place. If you can spare some time please contact the carnival chairman Debbie Davies on 267044.
