CHILDREN and parents at Wigmore Primary School have been donating food, water, sweets, socks and toiletries to help the homeless.

The children had been discussing homes and houses and were upset that not everyone had one.

They wanted to help the homeless and came up with the idea of giving things to make a difference themselves.

Oak Class (YR) and the Nursery children decorated 50 goody bags, containing the donated items, and gave them to Danny Ellson and Lynn Pitcher from the Christian Life Centre and Martha's Kitchen in Hereford.

They were thrilled with the donations and the bags will be given to homeless individuals, families who are currently without a home and to lonely people who attend the centre.
