ON January 30 members, partners and friends of Ross Rotary Club held a very enjoyable social evening at The Alma Inn in Linton to celebrate the 90th birthday of much loved Rotarian Harry Bradbury.

During the evening president Richard Williams presented Harry with a 25 year long service certificate and, in recognition of his services to Rotary, Harry was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow by Ross Rotary Club. A 90th birthday cake made by members of Age Concern to mark the occasion was enjoyed by all those present as was the excellent Lancashire hot pot, a tribute to Harry's roots, provided by The Alma Inn.

Although Harry has a reputation within the club as an articulate and interesting raconteur on a wide range of subjects, he was so surprised by the birthday social evening and award of a Paul Harris Fellow that he was rendered momentarily speechless. However, he recovered enough to sincerely thank the members of Ross Rotary for their fellowship, the honour of their award to him of a Paul Harris Fellow and to say how grateful he was for the friendship and support he had received during his years as a Rotarian.

Ross Rotary Club meets every Monday evening 6.30pm for 7pm at the Chase Hotel. Guests and potential members are very welcome. Please visit the website at rossrotary.com
