A LOCAL shopping centre in Hereford sponsored Hereford County Hospital's children's ward for a visit to the Polar Express Christmas grotto on December 9.
Thirty six children were able to attend along with their parents nurses and helpers.
Shopping centre staff gave their time for free to assist in this delightful and heart-warming event.
Colin Bell, Maylords Shopping Centre manager stated "The Maylords Shopping Centre considers itself an integral part of the community and as such found itself in the privileged position to offer the Hereford hospital children's ward a private session to meet Santa and after seeing the children's faces so full of excitement it was a delight."
Lucie Lloyd, staff nurse and Stacy Edwards, play specialist both from Hereford County Hospital's children's ward stated " It was really very nice to see the children outside of the hospital environment, and a really big thank you must go to Colin Bell and his team for making this such a wonderful event for the children who are going through, along with their parents, a very difficult time. This was a real pick me up for everyone."
