POWYS Radnor Federation of the Women's Institutes held their annual council meeting at the Pavilion in Llandrindod Wells on October 10.

The meeting had a full agenda including the singing of Jerusalem at the start, the usual business, presentations, guest speaker Dr Michael Leach finishing with the singing of the national anthems.

The speaker was described by county chairman Kath Graham as "Absolutely wonderful and his subject on 'animals behaving badly' was so very interesting". The county, trophies were presented to Felindre WI for new age kurling, Llangunllo for the quiz, Llanddewi for darts, Llanfair Waterdine for bowling and Aberedw for dominoes.

Whitton WI was presented with the recruitment award.

Denman college bursaries were awarded to Dawn Gill who has never before been awarded a county bursary and Jane Quarterman a member who is willing to go on the speakers list.

At the end of the meeting all the ladies and their guests enjoyed a supper prepared by Llangunllo WI.
