ON Thursday, September 22 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, local author Helen J Simpson will be hosting a party for invited guests to launch her new book The Juicy Smoothie Health Bar.

All proceeds from the event will be in aid of the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group. It is the only charitable provider of expert eye care in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, treating patients regardless of ethnicity, religion or ability to pay.

Helen has been a serving sister of the Order of the St John Ambulance movement in Herefordshire for nearly 50 years. She has raised a small contribution every year for the hospital and is delighted that sales of her book at the launch will go to such a good cause.

The Juicy Smoothie Health Bar features over 60 smoothie recipes that will help you lose weight, detox, slow down ageing and protect your whole body.

Professor Robert Nash, the global authority on phytochemicals, and guest of honour at the launch writes, 'I can recommend this useful directory of protector foods and the combinations that increase their potency.'

The book is available to buy in bookshops across the country including Waterstones in Hereford.
