AT the end of the month 175 local children will be taking to the Courtyard stage with local dance school Nicola's School of Dance who are celebrating their 10th anniversary with their show Ballroom Blitz.

Children as young as three years-of-age will dazzle audiences with their modern twist on ballroom and Latin favourites.

Principal Nicola Owen is extremely excited to be giving her pupils this opportunity and feels that it's exciting for Herefordshire to have ballroom and Latin dance celebrated in this way.

The ever growing popularity of BBC show Strictly Come Dancing has had a real impact on the growth of the school over the past 10 years and weekly classes are full with local children learning to foxtrot and cha cha cha.

Nicola said "We have even hired the 1.4 metre glitter ball that is used on the BBC show, so you can expect plenty of glitz and glamour on the night."

Nicola and her staff also teach dance and drama in nine different primary schools and reach out to 100s of pupils across the county weekly, so the school has a real community atmosphere which has been important in its development.

The Ballroom Blitz runs from July 21-23 and if you are missing your 'strictly' fix then this show is definitely for you. Due to popular demand an extra matinee has been added on July 23. Tickets are available exclusively from the Courtyard box office or online at courtyard.org.uk/events/ballroom-blitz
