THE highlight of the 2016 season of events for the Friends of St Thomas à Becket Church, Huntington, will take place on June 18 at 7.30pm at the church, Huntington, HR5 3PZ.

The traditional concert will take on the unusual form of mixing musical genres. This year, Sonia Hammond, the well known cellist from Newchurch, will be playing with Adrian Crick, the guitarist from Hay. They are from completely different backgrounds, but they will mix Bach with Django Rheinhart, from classical to jazz, with Mexican folk and burlesque waltzes thrown in.

It promises to be a light-hearted evening to suit everyone's tastes and with the mid-summer sun, hopefully shining on the pearl of the Huntington church, a wonderful evening will be in store.

The party will continue into the gardens of Huntington Court, by kind permission of William and Fiona Shone, where free wine and substantial canapés will be served to complete what should be a most happy evening.

Price £15 per person. Please apply via the website huntingtonchurch.co.uk or telephone Fiona Shone 01544 370391 (There are only 65 seats available).
