ANGIE and Jake Jones have been a very important part of Knighton Cub Scouts for the last ten years. The couple first got involved in the First Knighton Cubs ten years ago when their eldest son started. Angie soon became a joint leader with George Linaker and Jake was always helping out. When George retied Angie and Jake took over running the group. On July 17 they led their last session with the boys and were presented with lots of gifts as a thank you for al they have done. Town mayor Chris Branford said " We are here tonight to thank Angie and Jake for giving up their time every Friday evening for ten years to work with Knighton cubs". Angie thanked everyone for the gifts and said "I will really miss all the boys, I love you all so much".

She went on to say "The cubs will not close now I promise. If new leaders are not found then the group will be led by the area commissioner Fiona Preece with the new trainee development officer. I think it is really important that boys have somewhere to go where they can do 'boys stuff'". Angie and Jake are leaving the cubs because of work commitments and have been finding it increasingly difficult to find enough time for everything. On the same evening it was also time to say goodbye to Chris Burgin-Lynch a leader for the last three years. The Knighton cubs are now desperate to find a new leaders if anyone is interested please contact Fiona Preece on 01544 267859.
