THE residents of Bartestree, Lugwardine and Dormington have been treated to plush new signs for their village hall, at Bartestree Playing Fields.
With Bartestree's only pub currently closed, the long established village hall has become the leading centre of village life. Numerous clubs and societies meet there, and it is increasingly in demand as a venue for weddings, parties and other events. The Bartestree Cider and Beer Festival will take place at the village hall on July 4, and will feature local brewers and cider makers, as well as a selection of fine food, and live music all day. Free entry for all.
The new sign was jointly funded by Bartestree village hall and the parish council, constructed by G J Williams, and the whole project was co-ordinated by local parish councillor Paul Wargent.
