THE 'paws for a tea party' attracted a range of wagging tails and barking from dogs and their owners from Bromsberrow Heath and the surrounding areas.

The event held at the Shop at Bromsberrow provided beverages, soft drinks and a selection of delicious cakes, and for the pets, there were doggie treats and all were given free dog-waste bags which had been provided by the local parish council. This happy and community driven event raised more than £150 for the Blue Cross Charity whose purpose is to help sick animals. Spokesperson, shop volunteer Jan Long, said "The idea for the 'paws for a tea party' came from actor Martin Clunes who had promoted the national event, and I have written to Mr Clunes telling him of our involvement. We were so lucky that the day dawned sunny and bright, encouraging dogs and their owners to attend the party and we all want to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who attended and gave so generously, raising a very respectable amount for the Blue Cross Charity."
