MESSY Church, New Radnor, celebrated its fourth birthday recently with the theme of New Beginnings.
The children heard about Claudia the caterpillar who desperately wanted to fly.
She tried, on her own, several times with disastrous results, then she asked God to help and He did.
Claudia went to sleep in a chrysalis and everyone thought she was dead until she emerged as a beautiful butterfly.
She awoke with 'new beginnings'.
Rev Beaton said this was like Jesus dying on the cross.
Everyone thought He was dead, but he rose again - a new beginning, which He offers everyone who believes in Him.
