ON March 27, 70 women from the Ross Golf Club enjoyed their annual dinner which was themed on a Mediterranean cruise with each table decorated in the style of a Mediterranean country. They enjoyed a delicious meal consisting of various different dishes from these countries.

Before the meal, the winter competition prizes were awarded and the Winter Salver was won by Sheila Curtis with Rosemary Williams as runner up. The Winter Foursome was won by Hannah Whibley and Chris Crane with Jackie Wheatstone and Jenny Freel as runners up.

After dinner the women were entertained with an "on-board cabaret". A selection of songs from West End shows sung by four superb young singers led by Steve Liddle.

Four days later on March 31 the lady captain versus lady vice captain competition took place with a distinctly Easter theme. The lady captain, Rosemary Williams, led her team of Spring Chicks whilst lady vice captain, Annette Mansie, led her team of Easter Bunnies in a four ball better ball competition.

Members arrived in some excellent and colourful fancy dress to play on a day of very mixed weather which included sunshine, high winds and icy showers. The lady captain's team won the day and all ladies then attended a well-earned tea supplied by Richard and Jo.
