Members of Knighton Catholic church, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour put on an Easter Extravaganza at Knighton Community Centre on Easter Monday and raised £1,022.29. The money will be divided equally between the Ebola Appeal and Knighton and district Community Support Project.

At the event there was a good selection of items for sale from local craft's people, a raffle with some great prizes, tombola, guess the name of the donkey and teddy, drinks and cooked food and more. For children there was plenty to do including a colouring and Easter bonnet competition, decorating cookies, a nail art bar, face painting and play dough. Also at the event was singing by the band Rapsquillion and a parade of Easter bonnets led by Bridget Smith and her little donkey Lucie Locket around the centre.

Main organiser Clare Quan thanked all their sponsors including Jo' Incredible Edibles, The Conway Family, Trilogy, Lou's For Forever, Platinum Prices, The Flower Box, Cost Cutters, Nikki Davies, Tuffins, Spar, the Body Shop, Mary Kay Cosmetics, she also thanked the band Rapsquillion, the stall holders, all the helpers and everyone who attended on the day.

The winners of the colouring competition were zero - four years Zara Hardwick, five - eight Emily Quan and nine and over Mi Mi Watts and the best Easter bonnet prizes went to zero - four years Finlay Griffin, five - eight Archie Roberts and nine and over Charlotte Middleton. Raffle winners included Julie Graham who won flying lessons, Sue Riley, Sally Middleton, Janet Quan, Harrison Smith, Eleanor and Duncan, Janet Morgan, Emily Quan and Gail Hudson. Mike Conway guessed the name of the donkey correctly and Julie Watts named the bear and Sue Jones guessed the with of the cake. All prizes were presented by Father Michael.
