YOUNG artists from 18 schools and colleges from throughout Herefordshire and Worcestershire have had the opportunity to show off their talents at the Art Award Exhibition for sixth formers held at St Edmund's Hall, Malvern.
The event was organised by the Malvern Hills Decorative and Fine Arts Society, and the entries were adjudicated by artist Brian Gorst. There were 10 Highly Commended prizes awarded, amongst the 54 entrants, and two of those prizewinners were Alice Ormerod and Ewan Davis who are A Level students in the John Kyrle High School Art department.
Mr Gorst made a particular point of mentioning features of both Alice's and Ewan's work during his presentation speech and he also said how impressed he was with Jess Haines's work, another John Kyrle art student with work on show at Malvern.
Sixth form art teacher Neil Carroll said that he was delighted with this acknowledgement of John Kyrle talent amongst such a high quality show of work.
