THE pantomime Sheer Luck Holmes by Bob Heather and Cheryl Barrett was a great success for Teme Spirits, Knighton's light entertainment society.

The performance could be seen on three occasions including for the first time a matinee performance on the Saturday afternoon this was well attended and gave the elderly a chance to see the show without going out at night and was ideal for the younger members of the audience.

Producer Carole Pigram said " This has been a challenging year for us in many respects. Early in rehearsals we found ourselves with a pianist who needed a shoulder operation and a producer/ choreographer who needed a hip replacement.

Nevertheless the show must go on, and it did with the help, support and team work from all concerned". Although the show wasn't a traditional fairy tale pantomime, it had all the familiar ingredients including boos for the baddie and cheers for the dame that appealed to children and adults of all ages.

Ian Sharp played the role of Sheer Luck Holmes, Paul Heseltine, Dotty Watson the pantomime dame, Helen Wyles the scary baddy Mary Arty, Lisa Bradbury was Wendy Watson, Mary Lomax Prince Hugo, school girl Abi Durrant was loved by the audience in her role as the dog Baskerville, the very entertaining policemen were played by Jo Pardoe Buchard as Sergeant Astride, Suzy Pardoe Buchard as PC Arthur, Rose Whitefoot as PC Cone and Linda Hawkes as PC Oil and Roger Emmins played the role of the butcher Mary Arty's sidekick.

The chorus of costers, shoppers, plain clothed policemen, maids, apparitions, burglars and sewer workers were Janet Beech, John Beaumont, Tracie Durrant, Chloe Lewis, Ann Lloyd, Maureen Emmins, Tom Mosler, Nicole Pritchard and Maria Wyles. The junior chorus of street Urchins and Rats were Xander Bradley, Auran Bradley, Eve Franklin and Mia Franklin.

Musicians led by Musical Director Katie Mohamed on piano were Trevor Head, Ruth Middleton, Mandy Eccles and Rob Clough. The performance also included a big production team of producer Carole Pigram, and assistant Sandra Sharp, chorography Carole Pigram assisted by Helen Wyles, stage manager Jo Packham assisted by John Lewis, Ann Lloyd and Matthew Wyles, the set was designed and painted by Ann Lloyd, costumes by Sandra Sharp assisted by Val Bailey and Sandy Davies who were also the dressers for the adults, children's dresser was Sally Beech, the make up was done by Linda Hawkes, Lesley Smith and Hannah Arrowsmith, lighting and sound Marty Jones and Paul Whitefoot, prompt Nicky Warrick, properties Carol Powell and Nicky Warrick, cast refreshments by Helen Wyles and Ann Harroway, front of house Julia and John Roberts and Alan Whitefoot, publicity Helen Wyles assisted by Maria Wyles, Matthew Wyles and John Lewis.
