THE colourful figure of Ledbury's town crier, Bill the Bell Turberfield, was certain to draw attention to the Rotary club stand which was erected in the High Street to promote the work of Rotary, locally, nationally and internationally.

Rotarian and former mayor of Ledbury, Mary Cooper said "Having Bill ring his famous bell provided an opportunity to bring Ledbury Rotary to the attention of members of the public who wanted to learn more about what we do. We were also pleased to inform people that the date coincided international Polio Day eradication day, something with which Rotary has been involved on a global scale for many years, working in partnership with other organisation and in receipt of part-funding from the Gates Foundation."
