KNIGHTON young farmers celebrated their 70th anniversary with a dinner dance at Knighton community centre. There were current and past members including chairmen, secretaries, treasurers, presidents and club leaders. Two founder members, John Powys and John Thomas, were also at the event.

The master of ceremonies for the evening was current chairman Bethan Morgan. Everyone was welcomed by the club president David Williams, Amy Morris said Grace and the guest speaker for the evening was Cllr Roger Phillips from Herefordshire.

There was a large display at the side of the room showing pictures and scrap books through the 70 years. A special anniversary cake was cut by Ken Hodnett who was club chairman in 1946 and Betty Bowen (nee Wilding) who was club secretary in 1945. Both of these former members have children and/or grandchildren who have gone on to become club chairmen or secretaries. The evening was rounded off with dance music from The Pouletes.
