INTERNATIONAL author and smuggling mastermind Howard Marks, aka Mr Nice, will be at The Courtyard on September 14, recounting tales from an extraordinary life and providing answers to the questions you’ve always wanted to ask.
Once described as the most sophisticated smuggler of all time, Marks, pictured right, has assisted and worked with the British Secret Service and been connected with the Mafia, IRA, MI6 and CIA.
He juggled 43 aliases, 89 phone lines and 25 worldwide companies throughout the 80s and after being busted by a worldwide operation which took years to complete, Marks served seven years of his 25 year sentence at the US Federal Penitentiary, Indiana, before being released on parole in 1995.
Following the release last year of the film adaptation of his best-selling autobiography starring Rhys Ifans, Howard Marks is once again selling out venues across the UK with his one man show.
