JUBILEE - A large congregation gathered in St Mary’s to enjoy a songs of praise evening.
Various organisations and people chose their favourite hymn and a group of children from Gladestry Church in Wales Primary School sang two songs.
On bank holiday Monday, the Jubilee Family Day provided various events for the children, a bouncy castle and plenty of refreshments First prize for the best dressed Queen went to Kenneth Waugh representing Gladestry WI.
A hog roast supper with puddings was enjoyed and a bar opened. At 10pm a beacon was lit on a hill, a final tribute of thanks to the Queen from the village of Gladestry.
